Let's just say that Greece and I did not get off on the right foot. To start out we arrived at midnight and had to be up at 4am the next morning to catch our flight to Santorini and to top it all off for some reason the Athens airport decided to not know how to re-zip a bag...so instead they did this:
I mean could that be any MORE ridiculous? I don't think so. Anyways, we slept great for 4 hours in our 5 star hotel (that's right, hotel NOT hostel. We stayed at the airport Sofitel hotel. It was divine!) and then got up to catch our early am flight to Santorini. Soo excited! We arrived and our hostel picked us up thank goodness and we were able to drop off our stuff and go exploring a little bit right at sunrise. So great. Here are some picks of the island:
Ugh. Could that be any more beautiful??
Fira, the main "capital" of Santorini
After walking around for awhile we stopped to get breakfast of omelets with sausage, which turned out to really be a lot of hotdogs cut up in our eggs....a little gross but it was ok. I felt like I was 5 with the amount of hotdogs in this omelet. Afterward we walked back to our hostel and checked in and decided to spend the rest of the day at the pool.
Our hostel was the cutest thing every. If you are ever going to Santorini go stay at Pension George. And the best part is that the type of room we booked was available in two different rooms for the nights we were staying so instead they put us in a suite! It was so cute!
Our kitchen and stairs to the "bedroom"
Our bed swans with fresh flowers
And the best part is the balcony. So precious.
The poolside we spent a lot of time at. It was so relaxing to sit around and do nothing between our trips to big cities where we were walking around constantly all day.
