So a couple weeks ago, I went with my friend to one of his friend's art show openings. For a free art show in a random little theater down on the LES I was quite impressed! The artist's name is Chris Georgalas and I loved his stuff. He does painted paper and uses a lot of printed images from the 40s. Here are a couple of my faves (Also seriously check out the link to some more of his work. It really is amazing.):
The bottom one is my absolute favorite. I wish I could throw down $700-$1000 on a painting right now. He had some great stuff using images from Where the Wild Things Are and Curious George.
