Promises, Promises

Well hello there Jack McFarland! So nice to see you! To be honest, Sean Hayes wasn't much different as C.C. Baxter than Jack McFarland (though one character be straight and one be gay) but it almost doesn't matter. His performance was great. He had hilarious asides to the audience and fantastic mannerisms for a socially awkward business man in the 50s. My only complaint is that he doesn't have THAT great of a voice, but it was a lighthearted musical so you really didn't need one I suppose. Kristin Chenoweth was a delight. She is so cute and has a phenomenal voice.  She  did a fantastic job and is completely worth seeing live. 

The show's plot line is that C.C. is a low-level employee who has ambitions and wants to be an executive. He moves up in the company after a bunch of the executives barter for use of his one bedroom apartment to bring women to for their sexapades (done in 1950's humor of course). As he moves up he gets sent to the head of the company who gives C.C.  a promotion if he only allows him to use the apartment with his mistress. C.C. agrees and moves up in the company. He is in love with Fran (Chenoweth) and she is in love with the head of the company and has been his mistress for the past couple of months. If you watch Glee and saw her recent episode 2 weeks ago you will remember her rendition of "A House is Not a Home" which is one of her pivotal songs before the intermission. 

Well of course shenanigans ensue and it ends as all romantic comedies should. It was cute and fun and Hayes was hilarious and kept you laughing the whole time. I definitely give it my recommendation!
