Book Review: Cutting for Stone

This was a book I just finished recently. It was beautifully written. It is one of those books that isn't really about anything but is just about people and their lives. The author just did an amazing job of describing people and reactions. For a bit of background it is a story about twin boys that were born to a nun who worked at a hospital in Ethiopia. The first part of the book is about the parents of the twins, middle about their birth and childhood and then the end is the beginnings of their adult life. It is a story of doctors (and the author himself is a doctor) so the descriptions of the awful medical things that happen in 3rd world countries are a bit graphic at times. It was very well done.
